AUS-POWER Batteries is a family-owned 100% Australian business and a division of Alternative Energy Concepts (a company that specialises in supplying and installing quality, value-for-money off-grid systems). AUS-POWER Batteries came into existence over 5 years ago, when through our parent company, we were looking for a quality, affordable off-grid battery to supply as part of our off-grid installations.
After evaluating what was available in the market and those offerings not meeting our strict requirements, AUS-POWER Batteries teamed up with some of the largest battery manufacturers worldwide and designed our own range of quality Lithium (LiFeP04) batteries specifically designed for off-grid applications in the harsh Australian market.

Unlike others, we don’t shy away from showing what’s inside our batteries and how they are manufactured. It is true that many batteries look very similar from the outside, but when you open the hood and see the components used, how they are manufactured and what actually makes up the battery, then that’s where the similarity ends.
Batteries are a large investment; don’t fall into the trap of purchasing cheaper, inferior batteries just to initially save a few dollars. Remember the old saying, the poor man pays twice. A few dollars saved initially may well turn out to be a very expensive exercise in the long term.

All AUS-POWER Batteries contain numerous features designed for additional safety and to extend the life of the product. It all starts with the cells; we only use A Grade quality cells from leading manufacturers that are matched and balanced prior to assembly. Our bus bars are laser-welded to the cells, providing excellent and reliable connection points and low resistance. Our industrial-grade BMSs (Battery Management Systems) are custom-designed to our specific requirements and are designed for the long haul. They offer numerous safety features to protect your investment and to maximise the life of the battery.
All batteries have inbuilt pre charge resistors, MCB (125A Master Circuit Breakers) offering another level of protection, 3A Active Balancers (not passive balancers like most batteries) to keep your cells accurately balanced, large colour touch screens to navigate and monitor the battery, automatic ID assignment (no dip switch setting to fuss around with) as well as a host of other features that separate AUS-POWER Batteries from the competition.
We supply beefed-up battery terminals (200A, compared to 100A like most of our competitors) and supply beefed-up 35mm Battery cables (most supply 16mm), which makes AUS-POWER Batteries the ideal choice, particularly for larger installations.
Communications cables and mounting hardware are also included, so you’re all good to go.

Yes, our batteries can basically be used with virtually any inverter that works on a 48V power supply. The batteries have built-in protocols for most of the major inverter brands, and a specific protocol can easily be selected via the colour touch screen.
As we are off-grid specialists, one of the most important things we incorporate into any off-grid installation is redundancy. Agreed, it is cheaper (per KWh) to produce a larger battery, say 15KWh, but there are drawbacks in doing so. Let’s look at the following example of a small off-grid system that consists of 15KWh of battery capacity.
Option 1) Uses 3 x 5KWh batteries, giving a total of 15KWh of battery capacity. In this example, we are using 3 self-contained batteries, each with its own built-in BMS. If one of those batteries were to fail for whatever reason, the system still keeps running (albeit with a limited capacity until the problem is rectified), but the important thing is you have built redundancy into the system, and the lights will stay on.
It’s also much easier and cost-effective to expand the battery capacity at a later date, and add one or more additional batteries if required.
Option 2) Uses 1 x 15KWh battery. Yes, you may have saved some money, but this system only uses 1 battery and only one BMS (not three like the above example), and if that BMS or battery has a problem, then you are in the dark and without power, which makes your off-grid experience less than ideal.
Our BMS can support up to 50 Batteries (over 250KWh) in a single battery bank. Simply connect the communication cable between the batteries and turn on the 1st battery (Master battery), then the others in sequence then the magic happens. The batteries’ IDs will be automatically assigned. Not more fussing around with Dip Switch settings! Not only will the Dip Switch Settings be assigned automatically, but you can ALSO monitor any battery in the pack via the master battery, which is super convenient in larger installations.
No, these batteries are designed to work in a 48V environment (nominal voltage 51.2V), however, if you require a higher voltage, please contact one of our friendly staff and we can assist you with your requirements.
Our batteries are predominantly used in off-grid or ESS Energy Storage Systems; however, they are also ideal for Caravans, 4WD’s or any other application that requires a safe and reliable energy storage solution.
AUS-POWER Batteries have a design life of >10 years. We only use brand new A Grade cells that have a cycle life of >6000 cycles at 90% DOD. This equates to over 16 years, assuming the batteries were cycled once a day. In most situations, the cycling will be far less, meaning your batteries could last even longer.
Yes absolutely. We offer cost-effective battery Racks or Battery cabinets to house the batteries in a safe and secure environment. These are provided in flat pack to minimise freight charges and are an excellent addition to any off-grid installation.
Absolutely, we supply a full range of battery-related products and accessories to complete your installation. This includes anything from customised battery cables, battery disconnect master switches, battery monitors, etc.
